Tami Dee Tells All

Hi, Tami Dee, welcome aboard. I’m looking forward to chatting with you. Thank you for being here all week.

I am so happy to be here, Sloane.

ST: Please tell us a little about yourself.

TD: Reading has always been as necessary in my life as breathing air. I have always wanted to write, but until a couple of years ago did not dare to attempt it. I have dyslexia and although it does not affect my ability to read, it has a tremendous effect on my writing abilities. I can spell the same word wrong, six different ways, and often times I will write a sentence completely backwards. When I was in school, dyslexia was more or less unknown to educators. My consistently failing grades were a source of heartache and frustration for my teachers and myself.

My writing takes place after a full time job in the Human Resources Department of a large school district, and between spending time with my husband, three grown daughters, and a one year old granddaughter.

ST: Your current release, UNDER A VIKING MOON, is exciting and very sensual with excellent reviews from the top sites. Please tell us about the book.

TD: UNDER A VIKING MOON is a time travel romantic adventure. It is a story of legends, family, loyalty, responsibility, honor, determination, trust, and betrayal. Leif Nabboddrson, a Norse Jarl living in the year 900, and Katla ‘Kat’ Jonsdottir, a modern young woman who has survived the streets of San Francisco on her own since she was fifteen, are strong characters who each have their own, individual goals and responsibilities, strengths and weaknesses. Their challenge is compelling as they are swept through time. Each has the charge to save the family lines very existence and the only hope either can do so is to destroy what they love the most. Each other.

UNDER A VIKING MOON is a labor of love. I put my whole heart into the writing of this epic love story and to this day I feel close to my hero and heroine.

ST: Tami, you’ve achieved an excellent story and your love for it shines in your writing. How did you come up with the story line?

TD: Where do I come up with all my story lines? In my dreams! I have learned to have a pen and paper close to my night stand so I can scribble my dreams down before I forget them.

ST: That’s a great idea. Thanks for sharing it. Please tell us where everyone can buy UNDER A VIKING MOON.

TD: At Triskelion Publishing, www.triskelionpublishing.net then type in Tami Dee is the search box. The specific link is here.

ST: Thanks, Tami, for being so open with us. I look forward to tomorrow when we learn more about you and your method of writing.

If anyone has questions, please ask, Tami will be here throughout the day and night to respond.

We are sooooo excited

here at Sloane Central. Somehow, one of us came up with the brainstorm to talk with other authors for extra insight on writing. That process went great, but led us into an entire new realm when one of the authors suggested we do interviews and post them so everyone could learn more about writers as real people. We took a vote and the “ayes” carried.

Each month we’ll spend the third week talking with various writers on this blog. We encourage you all the check it out and please feel free to ask any questions you might have. Our author guests are cheerful, fun people who will be happy to blog with you.

The schedule for the next three months is;

January - Tami Dee www.tamidee.com
February - Sarah Grimm www.sarahgrimm.com
March - Mary Alice Pritchard www.maryalicepritchard.com

We kick off our year long bash on January 22. Please join us!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This year we’re starting off with a bang. In my last newsletter of 2006 I ran a contest asking the readers to send me names for a fifty-something female villian who hails from the wealthy side of Boston. She will star in a new book I’m doing at the end of this year. The prizes are a $15.00 gift certificate from Bath & Body Works for the given name and another certificate for the surname.

Thank you all for entering. The response was tremendous and took us hours to select the best combination. The end result is Regina St. Clair. Doesn’t that name just reek with snobbery and meanness?

Congratulations to Mindy and Kelli. Please email me your street addresses so I can get the prizes into the mail.

2007 is going to be a glorious year and I hope for you too. Remember to keep all your resolutions. Hmm, maybe I should practice what I preach!
