Newsletters – 2011

February 2011

Valentines Day is right on us. Because I’m a true romantic, I don’t hold with expensive gifts on this manmade holiday. You’re probably thinking there’s something really wrong with me to utter such a blasphemy since my income is from writing romance, but I stand by my statement.

In my humble opinion, this is the time to show and express love. How you ask? Simple.

Ladies, Partners, and Significant Others; cook that special meal your lover adores. Set the table with all the best dishes, glasses, flatware, and plenty of candles. The candles are for you. They’ll set your mood. Don’t have a tablecloth? No problem. Dig out your prettiest flat sheet from the linen closet and fold it to fit the table. Turn on your favorite music, pour yourself a glass of wine or your beverage of choice and head for the kitchen to let your creativity flow. If you’re out of food ideas, my website has hundreds of complete meals that are easy and won’t break the bank. Go to www.sloanetaylor.com and click on Fun Stuff. In the drop-down, click What’s Cooking for a few ideas.

Guys, Partners, and Significant Others; stop at the grocery store and pick up a bouquet of flowers. If you’re not sure your mate has a vase, snag one. Head over to the beverage section and grab a bottle of her/his favorite drink. Next, troll the adult beverage aisle for an exciting bottle of wine to go with the great meal you’re about to savor. While you’re at it, pick up a pair of fresh fruits to enjoy later in the evening.

The important thing about the day of love is to express how much your better half means to you with actions. Doing something terrific is more meaningful than a quick stop at the jewelers for the latest item blasted across the airwaves.

I sure hope Studs reads this before the big day. 🙂

IT’S TIME TO CELEBRATE!

Last issue our contest was to email me with CAMERA in the subject line for a chance to win a copy of PHOTO OP!. Two names were drawn. And the winners are:

LISA ANDERSON
LISA AVILA

Thank you to all who entered and I hope you play again this newsletter.

Next good news…

CLAIRE DE LUNE is in print! Here’s a short blurb:

You’re invited to the galaxy’s most prestigious beauty pageant.

Clothing optional.

Romance and danger…fully provided.

Cocky young detectives Gerry Rappeneau and Sebastian Thorpe-Campbell arrive at the premier lunar resort expecting a week of eye candy and long massages. With a half-billion-credit purse up for grabs, this year’s pageant is the focus of a hundred worlds. And beauty isn’t the only thing in the eye of the beholder.

One contestant, Evelyn Lyons, is attacked and her assailant killed. Surely a simple case of a stalker gone mad, as nothing bad ever happens at the Selene contest. So the brochure says.

The closer Gerry gets to Evelyn, the more he is convinced she’s hiding something. His meticulous character sparks with her wild, sassy nature, and they embark on a torrid affair. Their forbidden romance isn’t the only thing set to ignite in Pont de Reves.

Sebastian’s infatuation with demure Claire Villiers, another contestant, threatens to put all four of them in harm’s way.

A deadly trail of corporate conspiracy, monstrous assassins and hot bikini wax is more than anyone bargained for in this incendiary erotic mystery. Get ready for some serious heat on the dark side of the moon.

You can read an excerpt on my website www.sloanetaylor.com and buy CLAIRE DE LUNE from Amazon.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

Kid, our 13 year old granddaughter who loves to be called Ballet Princess, has the starring role in the Indiana Youth Ballet’s spring production of Peter Pan. She’ll dance the part of Peter. We’re excited to see her rendition after she did a stellar performance of Tinkerbelle last year.

ON WRITING

Rob Appleton and I are still working on our new sci/fi, DARK SIDE OF THE MOON. Our goal was to finish the book and turn in to Amber Quill Press December 15. Due to a few family situations on my end and the holidays we asked for an extension. AQP, the great professional that they are, understood and were happy to work with us.

DANISH DECADENCE, book three in the Melt the Ice series, fell into the same time constraints as did NAUGHTY NORWEGIANS, book four. Again, AQP granted extra time to complete the work.

Writing for a topnotch publisher is a joy. I am grateful to AQP and Rob for their patience.

CONTEST

It’s time for another Newsletter Members Only Contest. We’re staying with easy because many of you have emailed you enjoy it. There will be 2 winners. The prize is a free download, FINNISH FANTASIES book one in the Melt the Ice series.

Here’s the blurb:

Being Maid of Honor in Finland over Midsummer’s Eve is supposed to be fun, but for jingle writer Kate Adams it’s a nightmare. Things go from bad to worse when her high-priced rental car dies on an endless ribbon of bone-dry country road. Help arrives in the form of a delicious-looking, blue-collar local who just might make it all worthwhile.

Rurik Jaacko knows better than to stop for the princess perched on the hood of a Mercedes. Hot women and expensive cars are trouble, but he’s a sucker for any damsel in distress. The last thing he expects is to play bellhop to the sensual American, and love every sizzling moment.

A rustic pig farm and a friend who isn’t combine with deception to create the backdrop for earthy passion and international fraud…
