But I do like to take a few minutes each day to appreciate Mother Nature and how she dresses Indiana in magnificent colors. The pink and purple sunrises are glorious and the crimson and amber leaves are beautiful. I hope Mother Nature has done as well for you.

On A Personal Note
This summer and fall we devoted to painting the inside of the house and yard work. What a project! Not only have I lost weight, I’ve also lost my mind. Even though I hired Studs youngest daughter to paint the entire house, including all closets and doors, we still had to clear out fourteen years of clutter. Michele did a fabulous job. Our house now looks like something out of House Beautiful.
On Writing
4 DAYS is my current project for Musa Publishing. This sexy read is set in Zermatt, Switzerland during ski season. Sheridan Whitaker, a sassy Chicago gal, is gob smacked by the handsome and virile Alessandro Knobel, a disgruntled but wealthy Italian banker masquerading as a ski bum. The story will release in February 2015.

The asparagus was perfect. Slightly crisp and tart with balsamic vinegar.
Brandt watched her chew and licked his lips. “I love balsamic. Let me try.”
She expected him to cut himself another bite, but instead he leaned close and slid his tongue over her slightly parted lips.
“Mmm. Delicious. I need to try the steak too.”
He cut another sliver of meat and doused it liberally with the rich sauce. As he placed it on her tongue, she drew it in, curling her tongue slowly around it, before chewing.
Brandt lowered his head and took her bottom lip into his mouth, sucking gently. He moaned. “Incredible. The sauce is exquisite. What’s your secret ingredient?”
She closed the distance between them and nibbled on his full lower lip. “There’s a reason they call it a secret ingredient.”
He slid his hand up her bare arm, over her shoulder, and wrapped it lightly around her throat, tipping her chin so he could trail kisses along the place where her blood pulsed with growing excitement. “I bet I can get it out of you.” His voice had deepened and grown husky with lust.
The sound of it abraded her overcharged nerves, making her shiver. “Just as long as you know I’m holding out as long as I can.”
He sucked an earlobe into his mouth and gently bit down. “As you know, I love a challenge.”

Hard to believe, but just maybe summer is on the way. The time is here to get the garden in order. This year requires a lot of maintenance to the patio and areas that butt up to the house. I see serious manual labor for Studs and me and lots of Aleve.

On A Personal Note
Our two sport grandkids are swinging their way to stardom. Tiger and Little K are each on baseball teams that take their sandlot serious. And the two kids love it!
Little T and Bear are counting the days until summer vacation and Bear’s birthday. JB is just happy to be toddling along now that he’s three.
Kid is dancing her way to stardom by winning platinum awards for her solo dances.
Studs and I are proud of our adult kids and their spouses. They are doing a wonderful job of raising responsible and loving children.

“Oh! I’ll fetch Giles. Sir William Harding will have to be notified too.” Caroline cast her husband an anxious look. “Please be careful, Giles, in case John comes back.”
“You be careful too, my love. Walk slowly and listen for footsteps on the other side of the hedge. And if you meet anyone—anyone at all, man or woman—scream. Scream loudly.”
Caroline nodded and plunged back along the gravel paths surrounded by greenery. To her great relief she met nobody, although she was so rattled by events that she took a wrong turning and had to retrace her steps. “Hurry,” she told herself. “Fort is alone there and John is on the loose.”

Winter is here and looks to be staying for quite a while. Many years have passed since our area has been snowed and frozen like this. I sure hope we aren’t seeing a new trend in Northwest Indiana. My poor old bones can’t take it.

Studs and I are counting the days until we head south to meet up with our friends Bonnie and Tom.
