BLURB:

Lost in the Austrian Alps, psychologist Lonnie Copley is forced to accept help from a Hell’s Angel wannabe. She never expected to be trapped with the Aryan god in deserted Castle Flophouse.

Disgusted with cleaning up his client’s dirty lives, attorney Wolfe Deider is in major career throes. He doesn’t need some insolent woman mucking up his mind, even if she does have a mouth made for kissing.

EXCERPT:

“What the…” Wolfe ducked as slush spewed against the back of his helmet and ice slithered beneath his collar, along his neck. He had pulled onto the wide shoulder, to rest after the long day’s drive, staring across the Alps in deep thought, when an approaching vehicle broke the silence he craved. The crunch of ice and screeching tires ricocheted in his ears.

ScheiBe.” Shit. The car seemed to be spinning out of control as it slid closer to the edge of the mountain. No one drove at that kind of speed in heavy, wet snow. The guy drove like a Dummkopf and whatever happened was just what he deserved.

Then the world moved in slow motion, all the action exaggerated. The car swung left then right, in what seemed to take an hour. The brakes screeched, metal grinding against metal, before the dilapidated sedan glided across the shoulder. It coughed, like an old man who smoked too much, and died, its nose too close to the rim.

“Hey, Kamerad.” He pushed off the old tree trunk, waving his arms to catch the driver’s attention, and fell with all his weight onto one knee. The sharp pain clouded his mind for only a second before he regained his footing.

He waved and hollered again, hoping the man would look up. Then he did; only it was a she, with fear pasted on her face.

He stumbled again then slid closer to the door handle and yanked.

Locked.

“Open it.” The cold air poured into his lungs. “Open the door,” he yelled again.

If the previous time passed in slow motion, her action was like a movie in rewind. She mouthed a few words. With a shake of his head, he tapped on the glass and pointed to the lock. This was getting them no where.

He jerked on the handle, careful not to rock the car any more than necessary. She seemed to finally get her senses back and edged her hand to the armrest controls.

The lock clicked and in a quick movement he flung the door open, flipped the key off, then grabbed her. He yanked with all his strength, but she would not budge. Damn, she still had on the harness.

He leaned across to release the seatbelt. She fought him, flailing, and the car shifted.

“Hey, Fraulein, do not move.” She inhaled deep and briefly nodded her head. “We have to get you out of the car and keep it on the shoulder. The cows below won’t produce good milk tonight if you squash them.” Obviously humor was not working, because when she glanced up, her eyes were filled with tears.

He grabbed her arm and pulled. Ripping cloth and cracking ice echoed in his head. He hooked his hands under both of her armpits and tugged until he thought he would get a hernia. The damned steering wheel trapped her knees. With a grunt and a vigorous yank, she flew out of the car, knocking the wind out of him as he landed ass to frozen ground.

Setting the World on Fire

Love Romances and More does a terrific blog with interviews and honest book reviews. I am honored to share the one they posted this week for one of my books.

LONNIE HEATS UP: Part of the Magnificent Men of Munich Series by Sloane Taylor
Publisher: Aspen Mountain Press
Date published: November 2008
ISBN 978-1-60168-155-3
Contemporary Erotic Romance
E-book
Reviewed by Dawn

Lonnie Copley never expects to get lost in the winter wonderland of the Austrian Alps nor find the one man who alternately entices her to strip him bare to wanting to smack him for being a jerk. All it takes is one winter storm, some wine and a whole lot of sexual tension to find that Lonnie has found the perfect man….in Wolfe Deider. Now it is up to these two to find the way to their hearts before miscommunication has its way to keep them apart.

LONNIE HEATS UP is a novel full of winter weather, Austrian Alps as the background and a man who sets Lonnie on fire…well that is until he gets on her nerves and becomes a smug idiot. Ms. Sloane Taylor delivers a wonderful, laugh out loud rollicking fun time in LONNIE HEATS UP and I was blown away by the sheer scope of Lonnie’s adventures in Europe.

As this was the first time I read one of this author’s books and I can honestly say, I was enthralled with the entire story. I couldn’t put it away to even make dinner. Ms. Taylor delivers a fun and amusing story in LONNIE HEATS UP with two characters I found wonderfully appealing. You have a woman who is in a strange country, lost who finds herself stranded with a man who alternately turns her on one minute then the next, makes her want to beat him with her shoe. I was laughing one minute at Lonnie’s antics and the way the sparks flew off of her and Wolfe had me dreaming of running off to find my own hunky alpha male in the Alps.

With wonderful tight writing, captivating characters and a story that sucks you in and doesn’t let up until the last page, LONNIE HEATS UP has this reviewer running to grab the other two books that are connected in TEDDI TURNS ON and FRANCINE ON FIRE. Ms. Taylor is an author that will be permanently on my “to buy list” from now on with her wonderful and witty writing and it will leave you begging for more. I just hope I won’t have to wait too long for the next installment of the Magnificent Men of Munich Series.

Now I’m off to celebrate! But I’ll be back next Tuesday with another Teaser. Until then…

Happy Writing!

BLURB:

Francine Daniels doesn’t trust men. Not since two husbands and a con artist ruined her life. After years of struggle – during which she took back control and soared to new heights – there is no place in her plans for a German hottie…Even if she does burst into flames at his touch.

Heicke Brewer already made one disastrous trip down the aisle, and never plans to go that route again. He prefers the parade of international beauties lined up outside his bedroom door to enjoy his ‘satisfaction guaranteed’ reputation…Until he meets an American pixie too hot not to handle.

EXCERPT:

Francine slipped out the side door of the dining room when Heicke turned his back. Less than confident, she walked alone across the silent, black golf course. Her imagination played tricks as the tree branches swayed in the cool breeze, casting spidery images of boogie men in front of her. She looked up at the sky, praying the clouds would clear and all the moon to give off more light.

Dammit. Her shoe caught, yet again, in the wet grass. The damned expensive things were being ruined with every step she took. She wiggled her ankle, only to sink further into the mud. The only option left was to take off the shoe. Gathering her skirt so it wouldn’t get soaked, she bent over.

A twig snapped.

“Holy shitta.”

A hand clamped over her mouth. Jack the Ripper, Charles Manson, and every bloodcurdling creature Stephen King ever wrote about had joined together to attack her. She’d never been so scared, even when she had lived in her old car and been dumb enough to park it overnight at a drug house.

She jerked around, flailing her arms. Crack. Teetering as the heel broke off her sandal, she smacked into a solid wall of muscle.

“Shush Pixie. It is me, Heicke.” He wrapped his arms around her and she choked back a sob.

“Are you crazy?” Her heart pumped faster than a jet engine during take off. “You scared the living hell out of me.”

“It was not my intention.” He rubbed his hand rhythmically over her back, easing out her fear. She snuggled into him, grateful for his warmth. A spicy scent enveloped her as he pulled his coat around her shoulders. “You were very beautiful in the mirror and I became curious as to why you would leave without me.”

“I figured you’d get around to that eventually. After we were, ah, driving back from the shed, I forgot all about the charity donations.” Even to her the truth sounded stupid.

“And you thought it best to come out here alone?” She couldn’t see his face, but his suspicious tone said it all. “In the middle of the night?”

“What? You thought I came out here to lay some guy?”

Jerk.

He tapped a gentle finger on her lips. “No, perhaps I do not understand because of the idiosyncrasies of other languages. At least I hope that is my problem. Please explain about this laying of the golfers and why you did not wait for me.”

“You have a problem, all right.” She tried to pull away, but he tightened his grip and her heart skipped a couple of beats. “And there’s no help needed, Pup. I’m perfectly capable of surviving on my own.”

“So I see, and may I add you are making a fine job of it.” Lucky for his, his tone seemed to hold humor. “I know you, Pixie, better than you realize. Logic tells me you are not out here to have sex with someone.”

“Thank you for noticing.”
