This is Jeanne’s second contract in less then a week. The first was for “Animal Stories” published by Loose-ID.

Oh My God, I got The Call

I am in utter shock. Yesterday at 12:31 central standard time I opened my emails to find Terese Ramin from Triskelion Publishing offering me a contract for my latest work, Teddi Turns On. Tears ran down my chubby cheeks as I whooped and stamped my feet right before I jumped around my little office like a crazed Samoan at a fertility ritual. Without hesitation I emailed Terese a resounding YES!!!! and I would send a proper acceptance once my mind reconnected with my body.

Unfortunately the “B” was at work so I could only leave her a message on her cell phone as I pounded out an email to Studly. Then I had to plague Beth and Yasmine, my CPs, right before the Brazen Vixens were notified of my great news. All of these people have been so supportive I felt it was important to let then know their time and effort hadn’t wasted. Each and everyone was elated and wished me well.

Today my throat is still sore from screaming which became a croak when I opened another email from Terese with my contract. Of course the ferility dance got kicked up a notch. But I’m now back on level ground and ready to greet this new pase of my life with joy.

What a year. I have a daughter who is proud me, a man who truly loves me, granddaughters and a son-in-law who think I’m cool, and a contract with a respected publisher. God has given me more than I could ever want wrapped into one awesome year.

May 2006 bring you all your most pleasant surprises and the happiness you need.

What FANTASTIC news to open the emails today and discover Sherrill Quinn has won the Pisces contract with Liquid Silver Books. Way to go you Sinful Vixen!

Kate Lange didn’t win the contest. No, our Mama got a rejection of the best kind. She’s to enhance a scene because the editor WANTS, as in needs – has to have, her mermaid story.

Beyond Belief

Today has been one of the most shocking days of my life. Early this morning I opened the emails to find one from Jeanne Laws, a Brazen Vixen and a terrific writer. Her one word was “Woo-hooooooo!”. As I scrolled down the list I saw Jeanne had won as a finalist in the Spicy/Sensual category of the distinguished CONNections 2005 contest. What a great credit for Jeanne and well deserved. But as I scrolled further I saw I HAD WON FINALIST in TWO categories, Spicy/Sensual and the very cool CONNections Award, for the best first meeting between the hero and heroine.

My daughter had the good fortune to stop by and I couldn’t help but tell her. She threw her arms around me as she shouted her congrats and I finally knew she believed in my ability. That was one of the sweetest moments of my life.

Later Lorraine Yetke sent me the formal announcement and said the manuscript had been sent to Raelene Gorlinsky at Ellora’s Cave for final judging. Be still my impatient heart. Another copy of the entry had been sent to Melissa Endlich at Harlequinn for the best meeting. I’m in awe at all this good fortune.

It’s now late in the afternoon and I still can’t work. My mind is in total shock. All my buds have called or emailed their congratulations and it still doesn’t seem real. There’s been a gazillion contests with scores so small I had to use a magnifying glass to read them. Now this – what a high. What a great life.

And guess what? I’M A WRITER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mega congratulations to all the finalists. You’re all fine writers.
