More on Clare London
September 17, 2008 | Friends
For those of you who have an interest in m/m fiction, Clare London is one of the finest authors you’ll ever read. Here’s the cover from GOLD WARRIOR and a snippet to tease you;

THE GOLD WARRIOR
Maen is a Gold Warrior, a defender of Aza City, a world controlled by the Queen and her womankind where the best of men are maintained for the military and the women’s pleasure. A favorite of his imperious Mistress and a leader among his men, Maen is too cautious to seek casual sexual satisfaction and so stays alone, taking his comfort in ensuring a stable and controlled world. That world is thrown into disarray by Dax, a bold and challenging new Bronze soldier who excites Maen with his fierce hero worship and leads them to a forbidden affair. They find themselves thrown together in a dangerous and hostile environment without the support of the City and far away from their loyalties, and Maen finds himself risking everything for Dax – his position; his loyalties; and eventually, his life.
What the Reviewers Say:
Coffee Time Romance:
More than just a romantic tale, The Gold Warrior is an incredibly layered, well-rounded story of an almost communistic society and the indomitable human spirit within its illusion of order and perfection. Clare London writes these characters with sensitivity, understanding and vision. I cannot wait for the follow-up book to dive back into this story.
Rainbow-Reviews:
The Gold Warrior juggles a lot of issues, but handled it beautifully. She paints wonderful flawed characters and a vivid image of their world. If you have plenty of time set aside (because this story sucks you in and holds you fast), The Gold Warrior makes an excellent read!
Boys Next Door
I’ve always loved London’s writing, but this just makes me love it even more. It’s one of those books that when I finished it, I was pissed that I was going to have to wait for the next book to discover what happens to the other characters.

Not only is our September guest chef Clare London an excellent cook, even if according to Clare she does use the smoke alarm as a timer, our talented British friend is also a superb author of classy m/m fiction.
This week I’ll be sharing a bit of her work with you. So sit back and enjoy!

MASQUERADE by Clare London
Four explicit, seductive tales to entertain and enthral!
In BONDED, Chancellor Chariz imprisons a young man with strange ways and a shocking power. Chariz seeks only sexual entertainment, but Oriel offers something in return that will transform his captor for ever.
In TRICKERY, two young servants are brave adventurers on their Prince’s Quest, but when it’s hijacked by a lusty Magician, they are dragged into a murky and magically sexy mess!
In POSSESSION, Lucas is the young and passionate heir to the Fides Auction House. When charismatic Gideon Arnaud intrudes into his life, pursuing him both professionally and personally, Lucas struggles to keep both his freedom and sanity.
In THREADBARE, Edward takes a young mill worker under his protection, and is drawn into a web of beauty and mystery. What price will he pay for the delight and passion that Mori brings him?
And the Reviewers say;
Five bucks is a ridiculous low price to pay for four stories of this quality . . . (Ms London’s) stories are rather like watching a play, with the external world and explanations for its existence, merely suggested. The intimate focus is appropriate for erotica. This author has a large imagination and gift for story telling. The windows she opens are richly dressed and enthralling. This anthology is just incredible value for the price and is highly recommended if you like intelligent erotic stories, rather than plain old porn.”
Masquerade is a fine collection of fantasy short tales. Each is finely delineated, with descriptive backgrounds and rich characterization. The sensuality is also rich, appealing, and intimately detailed.
Here we have four short stories, different time periods and worlds for all of them, but all engaging. The stories are rich and lush, inviting you to curl up with them and delve into their layers. There’s always a touch of warmth in the author’s writing that shines through, even when she’s writing scenes that are sad, upsetting or disturbing. There’s this undercurrent of happiness that lets you know that things are going to work out for her characters. I may be an angst princess, but I can appreciate that thread of warmth.
This anthology has the flavour of the old fables of my youth. Even if in these tales our characters make passionate love, the sex doesn’t break the aurea of fantasy and ethereal love that pervades. The first and fourth tales are my favourite, they are also the longer. I can love a story even if it makes me cry. A very good fantasy anthology, more romantic of what you could think from the cover. Highly reccomended if you like to dream, but also if you have a naughty sense that sometime breaks through the clouds of your daydreams.

Tuesday Richards is a talented author with a voice thats rings loud and clear. You definitely want to read her work. TOO DEEP is action packed with twists and turns to keep you glued to the pages. Check out the blurb and excerpt to see for yourself.
Undercover 1: Too Deep by Tuesday Richards
Genre: Action/Suspense
ISBN: 9781935141013
Blurb:
Since the death of her mother Melissa Jacobs had to survive by living off the streets. Pulling cons to make ends meet. Until one day when her world was turned upside down when a guy in uniform threatens her and what’s left of her family if she does not cooperate.
Keagan Cole has been undercover in the largest drug cartel in Meximerica for two years. Realizing that he may have made a mistake in where he laid his loyalty and trust. Could the military and the government really be that dishonest? Decisions were made and he knew what he wanted until his past walked through the door.
Can a con artist be cured? Can the military threaten someone into doing what they want? Can a father and a daughter be reunited after ten years? Can high school sweethearts rekindle a lost love before all hell breaks loose?
Excerpt:
“Boss, she is a self-admitted con artist.” Keagan paced in front of Cas’s desk. “You’ve seen her rap sheet. How can you honestly let her stay here?” He stopped and looked at him.
Cas took a deep breath and walked around the desk. He put a hand on Keagan’s shoulder. “She’s my daughter. Record or no record, she takes no shit, especially from the government.” This is more than I can say about myself.
“That’s all well and good, sir, but how do you know she’s not pulling a con on you?” Keagan was truly worried. He was a perfect candidate to replace his current business partner.
Cas smiled and walked back around his desk and sat down. “This is why you’re going to take her shopping and find out if she is running a con.” He leaned back and steeped his fingers. “You have been playing double agent for two years now. Pretend to still be on the black ops team and see if she is working against us, or if she is here for the reasons she says she is and while you’re at it, keep her safe.”
“All do respect, sir; I am not a body guard.” Keagan stood perfectly still with his hands behind his back. Never disrespectful but always blunt with his feelings.
“No Keagan, you’re not a body guard, but you are my right-hand man and I trust your judgment. Find out why she is here and what she is after.”
“Yes sir.” Keagan bowed and left the office.
***
Melissa and Keagan sat in the Star Bean coffee shop on the Reno strip. The silence was deafening and you could have cut the tension with a laser knife. Keagan stared at Melissa. She was just as beautiful as he remembered. She was a little more grown up and ruggedly attractive. He could tell she’d had a hard life by the way her eyes shifted watching everything. Always on guard, and she was always looking over her shoulder. “Why are you here, Mel?”
Her crystal blue eyes floated around to look at him. She seemed to study the question. Analyze every word before she spoke. “What do you mean? I’m here to see my father.”
Keagan shook his head and sipped his coffee. “We’ve known each other for a long time. Don’t bullshit me.” He put the bold brew on the table in front of him and glared right at her. “You have Topper written all over you.”
Her eyes went wide for a second. An untrained person would have missed it. “I’m sorry but who is Topper?”
“Oh come on, Mel! You’re a con artist and the daughter of the wealthiest drug lord in Meximerica. Topper would use and abuse you without thought.” He held eye contact with her hoping she would break down. He knew she was hiding something and it was something that had to do with Topper. What hold has he got on you Mel? Tell me so I can help.
I’ll be back later this week. Until then…
Happy Writing!

Is It or Isn’t It
March 20, 2006 | Friends
Last night Studly and I decided we need a night out after a wake and babysitting. Off we went to the local gin mill and met up with two of our favorite people, Lou and Sharon. They are greatest. Both are knowledgeable on every possible topic. As conversations tend to do, we rambled on until we stopped at Dolly Parton and the fireworks began.
Sharon and I agreed Dolly’s boobs are fake. Lou was adamant they are not. Studly nodded sagely and refused to commit himself. This discussion grew into an argument which developed into bar banging to stress our personal opinions.
Lou stated he had just heard an interview with Dolly who confirmed those huge melons were definitely hers. I relayed an interview I’d heard about twenty years ago where Dolly told the public Porter Wagner had said the pint-sized singer wasn’t big enough to be on his show. After that Dolly got implants and became a star. Sharon contributed the fact that women didn’t develop watermelons after puberty and lugging around gargantuan tits would have to produce major backaches. Studly announced we should never tell men a woman’s tits aren’t real. Men just can’t accept that.
Of course we’re still friends. We’ve had several discussions that would have busted apart lesser relationships, but we’re cool and appreciate everyone’s ideas, even if are guys are wrong.
So here’s my question to you all this morning – what’s your opinion on Dolly’s mammaries?

Ya gotta love ’em. They’re there to harass you into being a real person again, surround you when the world turns to crap, and are the first to cheer for you when good things happen. In this life I’ve been blessed with some very special people from around the world. Check out yesterday’s comment. It was written by Jenna Howard, an amazing Canadian author, who well knows I’m a slug with computers. Yup, she’s a friend. Now she better get her sweet ass back to those sexy paranormals she writes or it’s the two-by-four.
A toast to you, sweet Diva. May the future bring you much success for it is well deserved.
